Searching for a Lexington County Jail Inmate

|

If you are attempting to search for a Lexington County jail inmate the Lexington County Sheriff's Department operates a free public jail records search.

The search will allow your research any inmate currently housed in the Lexington County Detention Center. You can search here for an inmate by first or last name.

When you locate your inmate you can view a current booking photograph as well as a listing of the criminal charges pending against them and the bond set by the Lexington County Bond Court.

In addition to providing criminal defense services the Law Office of James R. Snell, Jr., LLC, also can help with:

Representation in Bond Court
Obtaining a Preliminary Hearing
Bond Reductions
Restoring a License After a DUI Arrest

Anyone charged with a crime is entitled to be represented by an attorney at bond court. During bond court the judge will determine whether or not someone is eligible for release, and if so what conditions will be required. In addition to requiring bond (an amount of money to be paid), other conditions can include no-contact with the alleged victim, electronic monitoring, or house arrest.

No contact bond restrictions can be problematic in domestic violence cases, especially for couples who live together or have children in common. Electronic monitoring is expensive, and the equipment is uncomfortable and can cause public humiliation or difficulty with employment. House arrest is restrictive, meaning someone would be unable to travel outside of their home other than for limited pre-determined locations and times. The court is to make it's determination considering whether or not the defendant is a flight risk and\or a risk to the community.
